Stay Humble
MFCEO 012 Humility is Huge
Stay humble - it keeps you aggressive.
Humility is a key quality, and value that will be returned to and built upon throughout the entire project.
‘Start the Fight’ - even if you are winning. This means:
Treat every day as if it is day 1 in business. The aggression. The ‘Zero Options Mentality’. Complacency is the enemy of success.
Humility
Humility does not mean false humility, ie, fishing for compliments.
True humility is knowing exactly what you are great at, and exactly what you know you ned to improve on.
If you are not humble, your competitors will catch, and beat you.
Humility is NOT the same as modesty.
It is fine to NOT be modest, be proud of what you have achieved (once you have achieved it), earning money, success, fame… own it once you are there!
It is all about what makes you happy.
The key is:
Be humble without being modest. Do not confuse.
For example, if you are not humble, and are an arrogant difficult person that no one wants to be around or work with - you will go out of business.
Humility on your further potential growth (practice!) versus the complacency that can result from modesty (do NOT practice!) can be summed up in these polar opposite approaches to life:
Humility: on Mindset
Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset.
This finding was first coined by:

A counter example is somebody could be seen in someone like Floyd Mayweather (*a showy boxer)- but that is an exception - where the character appearance of arrogance is part of his appeal on TV.
Humility: on Credit
Give Credit.
Do not be a CEO who takes all the credit of your team - GIVE credit for your team.
Do not forget that YOUR pay comes from THEIR effort.
Designing the framework is the job of the entrepreneur, steering the boat. When you get to the point of becoming CEO of a team, never forget you got there through your hardworking people.
On Attrition:
People are going to want to grow quicker than your organisation can grow - so they will come and go.
For example, young guy/girl comes in, want to rule the world in 10 years, but it might take your company 20 years to rule the world - so it is natural tat they will move on to progress.
This is the best thing: where people that used to work for you go on to succeed as well as the people that stay with you.
YOU ARE A SUCCESS SCHOOL.
Learn from old people. There is wisdom and life experience there.
Humility: on Self Awareness
Humility comes from self awareness.
If you are not self aware enough - you could become arrogant in one direction on the axis
If you are not self aware enough - you could develop low self esteem in the other direction on that axis
Neither are good. Humility is born from self-awareness. As old as the ages, Ancient Rome: Know Thyself.

Success
Success is the Fulfilment of your Own True Potential
Andy will go on to modify this throughout the course of the Project to: “Success is the Pursuit of the Fulfilment of your own True Potential.”
This is impossible to achieve without both Self Awareness and Humility.
This has potent resonance to Design as a verb, the process, the doing, the emergence, and Design as a noun - the complete ‘Design’.
SUCCESS IS DESIGN.
